Nick and Maria planned their Portland, Oregon New Year’s Eve nuptials from their Chicago home with the help of family.  Securing some of the best vendors in town, their party was a night to remember.  This sophisticated Hollywood style wedding featured a silver, midnight blue and white at South East Portland’s Arista Ballroom.

Fritz Photography captured images that are worthy of both fashion magazines and art museum installations.

Maria chose white calla lilies, silver eucalyptus pods, dusty miller, white hydrangea and white feathers for her bridal bouquet.  The alter pieces were created in mercury glass pedestal vases with white oriental lilies, white dendrobium orchids, deep blue bella donna and silver leaves.

It’s rainy and chilly today in Portland so I thought I’d warm your and my spirits with beautiful photos of Tammy Wise and Sean O’Leary’s wedding from August 22nd, 2009.  Sean and Tammy were married on a sunny day at McMeniman’s Edgefield.

Their wedding was inspired by peacock feathers, which informed the color palette of the bouquets and personal flowers that we created. Peacock feathers also made their way into the bride and bridesmaid bouquets as well as hair combs worn by the ladies in the bridal party. Photos by Ashton Photography and Design.

To ensure a beautiful and diverse floral selection here at Broadway Floral we receive a weekly tropical shipment from Kaumana Flowers, a nursery located on the big island of Hawaii. We receive a mixed box of tropical cut flowers including red and green anthurium, pin-cushion protea, yellow oncidium orchids, multi hued mokara orchids, birds of paradise, dendrobium orchids and an everchanging selection of tropical greenery.

Displayed in clear glass vases inside the shop our tropical section always attracts shoppers with its vibrant colors and unsusual textures. These flowers can be arranged to create a beautiful tropical confection or added to local and seasonal cut flowers in a bouquet or vase arrangement.

Monogrammed raw silk make up bags are this seasons perfect gift for your bridesmaids or special friends.  Bags come in a variety of shades, perfect to coordinate with any wedding colors.  The raw silk bag is lined with  a cotton fabric and has a zipper closure.  While we have many bags to choose from in the shop, we would be happy to custom order personalized bags with a two week lead time.

Clustering, also known as grouping flowers by type, is a beautiful way of reinventing the vase arrangement. A fresh take on floral design, clustered arrangements showcase each season’s most beautiful offerings. Clustering flowers such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, lilies and hydrangeas ( just to name a few) create a modern presentation for the sophisticated flower lover.

This type of arrangement can either be monochromatic or shown with blocks of color. Single colored or monochromatic arrangements exude simplicity and elegance. Colorfully clustered vase arrangements are joyful and casual.

Typically three to five different flowers are used in each presentation and are often arranged in shorter vases to create a more compact design. Shown here are beautiful examples of Broadway Floral’s clustered arrangements.  Any of our talented designers can also create a custom clustered vase arrangement with your favorite flowers.

Melanie and Steven had a most romantic wedding at Mt. Hood Organic Farms.  With a view of the beloved Mt. Hood and a beautiful warm Northwest day this perfect pair tied the knot in August.  Thank you Melanie & Steven for sharing your special day with us!

Melanie’s bouquet was inspired by a picture she brought into the shop.  Her bouquet included calla lilies, green hydrangea, Helga Piaget roses, freesia and bear grass loops.  It complimented her sparkling personality and gorgeous lace dress. 

Melanie’s sisters and closest friends were her attendants.  They carried simple bouquets of white hydrangea.

Sarah and Ted came into the shop with an incredible color palette for their August wedding.  Although they were planning the wedding from out of state, they were so relaxed and friendly.

Beautiful coral dahlias, godetia, sweet peas, orchids, Kermit mums, mini gerbera daisies, hypericum berry and roses were an incredible combination.

Moscow roses and coral godetia were the perfect balance of pink and coral against the backdrop of lime green spider mums and green tea roses.  The bridesmaids wore watermelon colored dresses in this July Washington Park Rose Garden Wedding.

Helga Piaget Roses have soft edges like peonies. A perfect choice when peonies are out of season. Green tea roses work well with any color and open to a perfect light green color.

Our bride, Jennifer wanted a little sparkle among her romantic green and white bridal bouquet.  Helga Piaget roses added the perfect rose scent to this bouquet filled with mini green hydrangea, white calla lilies, green tea roses, hypericum berry and white freesia.
