Nick and Maria planned their Portland, Oregon New Year’s Eve nuptials from their Chicago home with the help of family.  Securing some of the best vendors in town, their party was a night to remember.  This sophisticated Hollywood style wedding featured a silver, midnight blue and white at South East Portland’s Arista Ballroom.

Fritz Photography captured images that are worthy of both fashion magazines and art museum installations.

Maria chose white calla lilies, silver eucalyptus pods, dusty miller, white hydrangea and white feathers for her bridal bouquet.  The alter pieces were created in mercury glass pedestal vases with white oriental lilies, white dendrobium orchids, deep blue bella donna and silver leaves.

It’s rainy and chilly today in Portland so I thought I’d warm your and my spirits with beautiful photos of Tammy Wise and Sean O’Leary’s wedding from August 22nd, 2009.  Sean and Tammy were married on a sunny day at McMeniman’s Edgefield.

Their wedding was inspired by peacock feathers, which informed the color palette of the bouquets and personal flowers that we created. Peacock feathers also made their way into the bride and bridesmaid bouquets as well as hair combs worn by the ladies in the bridal party. Photos by Ashton Photography and Design.

To ensure a beautiful and diverse floral selection here at Broadway Floral we receive a weekly tropical shipment from Kaumana Flowers, a nursery located on the big island of Hawaii. We receive a mixed box of tropical cut flowers including red and green anthurium, pin-cushion protea, yellow oncidium orchids, multi hued mokara orchids, birds of paradise, dendrobium orchids and an everchanging selection of tropical greenery.

Displayed in clear glass vases inside the shop our tropical section always attracts shoppers with its vibrant colors and unsusual textures. These flowers can be arranged to create a beautiful tropical confection or added to local and seasonal cut flowers in a bouquet or vase arrangement.

On October 16th the story of Where the Wild Things Are comes to life on the big screen!  Maurice Sendak’s popular children’s book has inspired a movie directed by Spike Jonze.  The talented star of this new movie, Max Records, is from Portland.  

Venture into this wonderful world of “wild things” with a copy of the book.  If it’s not already one of your favorite stories, it will be soon.  This is a story for everyone at any age. Tell the story with a “wild thing” puppet or a small plush doll.  We also have a large floor puzzle, perfect for children’s rooms.

Beautiful bride Lauren wanted flowers that were both unique and romantic for her July 18 wedding.  Helga Piaget roses, freesia and moonstruck spray roses played the romantic leads while fresh lemons, lambs ear, rosemary and lysmachia played supporting roles.

Don’t make lemonade….make an exceptional bouquet!  DesignerSunny D spiced up these arrangements by using cut lemons, orchids, calla lilies, poppy pods and Chinese lanterns.      

This arrangement called for an “over the top” design.  White cymbidium orchids and silver sprayed curly willow were just the beginning of this show stopping gift for Adam Lambert.  Silver leaves flanked with cobalt blue crystals, dripping silver faux amaranthus and bells of Ireland finished out this arrangement by design team Torrence and Peterson.

The American Idol tour kicked off in Portland July 5th.  The Adam Lambert YahooGroups fan club sent this arrangment to the singer wishing him well on the beginning of this national tour.

We are proud to be a well established flower shop in the City of Roses. It is only fitting that we are the choice for flowers for the broadcast of Portland Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade. Television personalities Tracy Barry and Joe Donlan announced the parade entries behind this beautiful arrangement. Our designer Torrance used vivid colors that were stunning in high definition. Peonies, lilies, eremurus, sweet peas and of course roses were used to create this design.
